Cookshack SM160 SmartSmoker
Built in the USA, converted to 240v at the factory, and CE compliant, the SM160 SmartSmoker will work 24 hours a day turning out excellent succulent low-and-slow wood-smoked foods. It is inexpensive to run, easy-to-use, and very versatile,
The cooking heat in Cookshack's SM160 commercial smoker oven is provided by a single, heavy-duty 1500W heating element that also takes wood or other smoke-flavour sources placed in a smoke box to smouldering point.
Installation is a snip. Simply place the SM160 SmartSmoker under an appropriate commercial extraction canopy, plug it in, and off you go!
Or attach the optional Cookshack Smokehood and vent the unit to under your canopy from almost anywhere in the kitchen; or directly to outside if circumstances permit (especially useful for mobile catering!),.
Versatility
As well as hot-smoking, the SM160 can be adapted for cold-smoking through the use of the optional Cold Smoke Kit. And it can be utilised as a holding oven when not being used for smoking.
Unlike some electrically heated smokers, the SM160 SmartSmoker does not tie you to a specific wood product, such as bisquettes or pucks. You can smoke-cook with almost anything: your own hardwood chunks, wood from old wine barrels, dried citrus peels, herbs, etc.
Or you can use classic American hardwoods in the form of all-natural BBQ pellets, which are available in a wide range of varieties including American-sourced Hickory, Cherry, Mesquite, Maple, or Pecan.
Low Running Costs
If using your own hardwood, smoking costs will be negligable. And even the cost of using American hardwood BBQ pellets in a SM160 is typically no more than 20p per load, irrespective of cooking time - and there's a lot of cooking time when going low-and-slow!
With regular use, the SM160 SmartSmoker has the potential to save you £000s in a relatively short period of time compared to electric smokers that tie you to a specific wood product. Seriously, do the maths!
Double-walled stainless steel construction with 454°C Spin-Glas® insulation, provides superior heat retention and reduces electrical consumption. It's design allows sufficient air-flow to enable smoke flavour penetration, without constantly reheating cool air or losing moisture.
The SM160 does NOT use gas, which means greater yields and better flavour.
The SM160 pays back quickly!
Digital Control, Programmable, Cook-and-Hold
Cookshack's IQ5 electronic time/temperature control system includes programmable, customisable cooking presets, alarm cycle, 16-character LCD display, and USB port for downloading up to 512 hours of cook time onto a FAT formatted USB drive. It features 3-stage, 2-stage, and meat probe cooking options.
Even with all these features the controller is easy for any kitchen employee to use, making it a Management dream!
